Arunas is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sweetwater Energy, Inc., an alternative energy business, based in Rochester, New York. Prior to joining Sweetwater, Arunas founded the Rochester, NY, based communications company PAETEC, which grew from a private company to a Fortune 1000 public company, with over $2 billion in annual revenues in 2011. He served as that company’s Chairman, President and Executive Officer until it was sold in December 2011 for $2.3 billion.
Arunas began his career at Rochester Telephone Corporation and went on to serve as president of ACC Corp. He led that public company until it was purchased by TCG/AT&T in 1998 for more than $1 billion.
Arunas holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from MIT, an M.B.A. from the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Rochester. He serves as trustee at The Harley School, the University of Rochester and MIT.
